Onboarding
The first-run fact-find that shapes what every tool gives back to you.
What it is
The first-run fact-find before the tools are useful
Onboarding is the first-run fact-find and profile setup — the thing that happens before the tools are useful, so that when you reach them they are already aimed at your organisation rather than at a generic one.
What it does. It gathers the facts about your organisation and your role, and those facts shape the output of the tools. That is the whole mechanism: the fact-find feeds every tool downstream, so the answers, reasoning and recommendations you get back are set against your context — sector, size, the decisions in front of you — rather than against a textbook example. As the owner puts it, the facts gathered shape the output of the tools. It is not a questionnaire for its own sake; it is the step that makes the rest of the platform return something you can actually use.
What you get. A set-up profile so the tools speak to your context, not a generic one. You sit down to Ask Quinn, the Diagnostic, or the Proportionality Check and they already know enough about you to start from the right place. The judgement stays yours; the framing stops being generic.
Who uses it. Anyone starting in the app. New users on the first run, HR and people leads setting up the account, and EDI and governance leads who will be working through the tools afterwards.
Where it fits. Onboarding builds the profile that My Profile then administers over time — subscription, account and the facts you keep current as your organisation changes. Run it once at the start; return to My Profile when the facts move.

- Diagnostic — An evidenced baseline of where your governance actually stands.
- Ask Quinn — Guidance you can check, with the sources under it.
Frequently asked questions
Five things people ask before they start
What is the Trans Inclusion Toolkit, and who is it for?
A practical toolkit for organisations making difficult decisions on trans inclusion — policies, facilities, complaints, and the moments a decision has to be defended. It is built for HR, governance and EDI leads, line managers, and the executives who sign the work off.
Is my data private, and is it used to train AI?
Your data is encrypted, private to your account, and held in DocuVault. It is not used to train AI models.
Does the Toolkit give me legal advice?
No. It gives structured guidance and reasoning you can check against the sources under it, not legal advice. For a specific legal situation or a live challenge, consult a solicitor.
What does it cost, and what plan do I need?
There is a free Discover tier to start, then paid Practitioner, Professional and Enterprise plans as your use grows. Your plan and the access it entitles you to live under My Profile.
How do I get started, and how do I keep my details current?
Onboarding walks you through a first-run fact-find about your organisation and role, and that shapes what every tool gives back. Your name, plan and access are kept under My Profile — come back there any time to update them as your situation or subscription changes.
