Accessibility
Our Commitment to Accessible Content
We want everyone to be able to use this site. This page explains what we do, what we know we need to improve, and how to get in touch if something isn’t working for you.
Last updated: February 2026
1. Our Commitment
SEE Change Happen Ltd is committed to making The Trans Inclusion Toolkit accessible to the widest possible audience, including disabled people and those using assistive technologies.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we continually work to improve the experience for all users. Where we fall short, we want to know about it.
2. What We Do
We have implemented the following measures to support accessibility across this site:
- Semantic HTML5 structure — proper use of headings, landmarks, and document structure to support screen reader navigation
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements (links, buttons, forms, accordions) are accessible via keyboard
- Alternative text — meaningful alt text on all content images; decorative images are marked as presentational
- Colour contrast — text and background colour combinations meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text
- Responsive design — the site adapts to all screen sizes, from mobile phones to large desktop monitors
- Focus indicators — visible focus outlines for keyboard users navigating the site
- ARIA attributes — Accessible Rich Internet Applications attributes are used where appropriate to enhance the experience for assistive technology users
- Readable font sizes — base font sizes support browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Dark mode support — the site includes a dark colour scheme that respects user preferences and maintains contrast ratios
3. Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some parts of the site may not be fully accessible. We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:
Charts and data visualisations
The Beyond Compliance research includes bar charts and statistical graphics that present complex data visually. We provide text descriptions and context alongside charts where possible. Charts can be expanded via a lightbox for easier reading. However, some complex data visualisations may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. We are exploring ways to improve this, including structured data tables as alternatives.
Third-party embeds
HubSpot forms are embedded on several pages for contact enquiries and email signup. The accessibility of these forms is subject to HubSpot’s own accessibility standards. We have raised accessibility as a priority with HubSpot and aim to mitigate any gaps where possible.
Downloadable resources
If downloadable resources (such as PDF documents) are added to the site in future, we will aim to provide accessible alternatives, including tagged PDF documents and plain-text versions.
4. Assistive Technology
This site has been tested with:
- Screen readers — NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS)
- Keyboard-only navigation — tabbing through all interactive elements
- Browser zoom — content tested at 200% and 400% zoom levels
- High contrast mode — tested with Windows High Contrast and browser-forced colours
We welcome feedback from users of other assistive technologies, including JAWS, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and switch access devices. If you experience difficulties, please let us know so we can investigate.
5. Feedback and Contact
We want to hear from you if you encounter any accessibility barriers on this site. Your feedback helps us improve the experience for everyone.
