Support Mechanisms Check

Test whether your support mechanisms exist in practice

Twenty questions on inclusion, learning routes, contribution, challenge and direct provision — about what your organisation has built, not about how anyone feels.

Written down is not the same as working.

Four ascending blocks forming a staircase, with a shield bearing a tick, a speech bubble, a signpost and an open doorway linked by fine lines — routes and provision people can actually use.

Mechanisms, not feelings

This check asks what the organisation has built and could show. Nothing here asks a trans person to report on their own experience — hearing from people directly is a separate piece of work, and one that needs more care than a web form can offer.

Take the assessment with our help

The interactive Support Mechanisms Self-Assessment needs JavaScript. It's a five-minute self-check on whether the mechanisms that make an organisation safe to be trans in are actually built — not just stated. If it hasn't loaded, you can talk to us directly instead.
