Uploading a policy, and why the upload button is greyed out
Using the toolkit
DocuVault stores policies so they can be loaded into the tools instead of being pasted in each time.
- Open DocuVault from the sidebar.
- On the Active view, choose Upload a policy (the purple button above the table). It takes PDF, Word (.docx), plain text and rich text files.
- Once uploaded, it can be loaded into a tool, for example with Load from DocuVault in the Policy Hardener.
If the button is greyed out, hovering over it shows why. It will be one of three reasons: the organisation is a demo organisation, the limit of active policies has been reached, or this is a preview rather than the live platform. Archived and deleted items do not count towards the limit, so archiving an old version frees a place.
If a message says the text cannot be read, the file is usually a scanned or image-only PDF. The policy is still saved in the vault, but a text version should be uploaded so the tools can analyse it.
